The County Clerk will affix their seal and complete a certification to verify the signature of the State or Local Registrar. Rejection Cause: Sending the document without this county certification. The state apostilles the County Clerk's signature, not the Registrar's signature directly.
Complete Cover Sheet
You must include a completed "Apostille/Certification Cover Sheet" which acts as your cover sheet. This form is available on the New Jersey Department of Treasury's website and is mandatory.
Correct Payment
Include a $25.00 per apostille fee. Payment must be made by check or money order payable to "Treasurer, State of New Jersey." Cash is not accepted for mail-in requests.
