Rules for Death Certificate
Must Be a Certified Copy

Certificate Must Be Recent

Do Not Notarize the Certificate
The certified death certificate itself should not be notarized. Its validity for the apostille comes directly from the signature of the State Registrar. Notarizing it will invalidate the document for this process.
